Sabrina Boykin had 14 points, 9 assists and grabbed 6 rebounds and Lindsay Ellis
added 15 points and 12 rebounds for Fairport.
Livonia 61, Edison 21: Becca Malinowski scored 14 points and made six
steals for Livonia.
Krissy Wilson added 11 for the Bulldogs (5-3). Edison (1-7) was paced by

HF-L's Brown, Howlett help defeat Penfield
in OT

(December 28, 2002) — PITTSFORD — Sophomore forward Maddy Brown scored eight
points in overtime to lead Honeoye Falls-Lima to an 89-83 victory over
Penfield in the first round of the Pittsford Mendon Tournament on Friday.
Melissa Howlett hit a 3-pointer to start the extra period as HF-L went on a
7-0 run.
Freshman guard Kendall McKay hit a free throw with eight seconds left in
regulation to give HF-L a 75-73 lead. Ashley McMillen tipped in Kayleigh
Duda’s missed shot at the buzzer to send the game into overtime for Penfield
(6-2).
Brown finished with 30 points and 16 rebounds, and freshman point guard
Jessica Chapin had 14 points and eight assists for the Cougars (6-2). Freshman
center Erica Williamson grabbed 13 rebounds for HF-L.
’’At one time we had three freshmen and two sophomores in the game and I
thought to myself I need to get the older kids out there, but they were doing
a great job,’’ HF-L coach Steve Willoughby said. ‘’Maddy Brown played an
unstoppable game and changed the way Penfield had to stop us.’’
McMillen, one of Monroe County’s best players, scored 10 of her 25 points in
the fourth for Penfield, which is No. 22 in the Class A state rankings.
Penfield, whose only other loss was to No. 8 Fairport, shot 25 of 31 from the
free-throw line.
Pittsford Mendon 56, Victor 35: Danielle Bleecker scored 14 points and
grabbed 12 rebouds for the Vikings (6-3). Carly Julien added 11 points and
seven assists for Mendon.

Churchville-Chili 48, Spencerport 45: C-C took its first lead at 38-36
midway through the fourth quarter, and Colleen Montgomery hit two free throws
with 26 seconds to put the Saints (4-4) up for good.
Montgomery, a sophomore forward, finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds, and
Katie Voorheis added 16 points and 14 rebounds for the Saints in their first
victory since losing star Joanna Patalano to an ACL injury.
Carrie Kazmerski scored 10 of her 14 points in the fist half for Spencerport
(5-3).
YORK TOURNAMENT
FIRST ROUND
Lyons 59, Byron-Bergen 55: Mackenzie Marr hit a free throw with 1.5
seconds left in the fourth quarter to seal the victory for the Lions (5-0).
Ashley Hohn scored seven points in the second quarter to boost the Bees (6-1).
WAYLAND-COHOCTON TOURNAMENT
FIRST ROUND
Irondequoit 48, Warsaw 35: Katie Gleasman and Colleen Schoen combined
to score 13 points in Irondequoit’s 15-0 run that opened the second half.
Schoen and Erin Vess each scored 15 points to lead the Eagles (4-3). Schoen
grabbed nine rebounds and Vess had 10 rebounds and five blocks.
Warsaw fell to 6-2.
DANSVILLE TOURNAMENT
FIRST ROUND
Greece Odyssey 51, Dansville 32: Rachel Pagano-Fuller posted 12 points, 9
rebounds and 13 steals for the Leopards (6-2), who got 16 points from Olivia
Meier.
ATTICA TOURNAMENT
Championship, Letchworth 36, Batavia 32: Batavia cut a nine-point lead to
three, but Letchworth (7-2) hit 10 of 17 free throws in the fourth quarter.
PALMYRA-MACEDON TOURNAMENT
FIRST ROUND
Mercy 44, Palmyra-Macedon 34: Meg Ryan tallied 10 points, 6 assists and
7 rebounds for the Monarchs (6-2) and Mary Carpenter added 9 points, 8
rebounds, and 6 steals.
Pal-Mac is 3-2.
NEWARK TOURNAMENT
FIRST ROUND
Vestal-IV 64, Aquinas 43: Junior forward Ali Sharpe scored 22 points
and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead the Little Irish (3-3) and Jessica Littlefield
added 7 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals.
Vestal-IV is 6-1.

Batavia Notre Dame 57, Perry 33 Albion-VI 48, Kendall 47: Sophomore
Ashlee Salisbury hit a layup with 20 seconds reamining to lift Albion (6-2).
AVON TOURNAMENT
FIRST ROUND
Avon 34, Red Jacket 33: Julie Stanton hit a 3-pointer from 35 feet away
at the buzzer to give Avon a 34-33 win.
Stanton and Taryn Webb’s points all came in the second half for Avon (1-1,
4-4).
