The boys' varsity basketball team added two to
their 2002-2003 win column this weekend with victories over both Lockport and
Pal-Mac in the Coaches Versus Cancer Tournament.
In their first game of the tournament, Fairport
took on Lockport. The team took an early 17-to-9 lead at the end of the first
quarter and never looked back. The final score was Fairport 50, Lockport 35.
Adam Wale lead the Red Raiders with 12 points and 3 steals. Ryan McAdams
contributed 11 points, 5 rebounds and 3 blocked shots. Eric Snider pulled down
11 boards, went 4 for six from the field adding a total of 9 points to the
team's tally.
Fairport faced Pal-Mac in the final of the
two-game tournament. Eric Snider pulled down 8 rebounds for the Red Raiders
while hitting a game-high 14 points. Ryan MacAdams added 13 points, Adam Wale
hit 12 including 5 out of 7 from the free-throw line. Mike Clay added 10 points
and had 4 assists in the contest. The Raiders took an early 15-10 first-quarter
lead and went on to win the contest 69-57.
Adam Wale made the All-Tournament team
and Eric Snider was named Tournament MVP.
