01/24/03 Time to cheer
The Greater Rochester Cheer and Dance Championships take over the floor at Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday. Admission is $5. The competition includes Section V teams and squads from the Buffalo and Syracuse areas.
Varsity division starts at 1 p.m. The awards ceremony is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Four scholarships -- ranging from $750 to $300 -- to be used toward college will be awarded. To be eligible, students needed to have at least a 3.5 GPA, have recommendations from a teacher and coach and write an essay.
