A strong first quarter set the stage for what
would become the varsity Raiders' 15th win of the 2002-2003 season. Though
Churchville Chili has had a tough season, coming into this game without a win,
the Raiders played a well-rounded game. Eric Johnson and Cory Magee scored in
double-digits, contributing 10 and 11 points respectively. Six more Raiders
contributed five points or more.
It was Tyler Smith's night on the boards,
grabbing a game-high 7 rebounds, six of those coming off the defensive boards.
Eric Snider and Jamal Redding pulled down 5 apiece.
As a team, the Raiders tallied 35 rebounds, 12
assists, 15 steals and 11 turnovers in the match.
The boys' varsity Raiders hit the road for a
game against the Patriots of Penfield on Wednesday, February 5th and return home
for a Friday evening game against Webster Schroeder. Fairport beat Penfield in
their last meeting by 21 points.
