Fairport J.V. Boys' Basketball beat Churchville and Brockport

The J.V. Raiders opened up league play last week against Churchville and Brockport. In the Churchville game Fairport jumped out to a big lead in the first quarter, outscoring the Saints 24 to 4. Kelly Condello scored 10 of his game high 18 points in the first quarter. The final score was 49 to 27. Also scoring for Fairport were Nick Pelusio with 9 points, Pat Tiberio with 5, Mike Wayne with 4, Bob Duell with 4, Mark Bruce with 3. Corey McAdam, Owen Reilly and Mark VanThof each added 2 points. Also playing and contributing to the victory were Jeremy Roberts, Adam Cole and Josh Michalko.

Friday night the Raiders traveled to Brockport to take on the the Blue Devils. The first quarter was close with the Raiders taking the lead 18 to 14. Fairport tightened up the defense in the second quarter holding Brockport to seven points to lead 32 to 21 at the half. The Raiders extended their lead in the second half to go on to win 66 to 51. Leading a balanced scoring attack was Condello with 13 points. Also scoring were Bruce with 12, McAdam with 11, Pelusio with 8, Roberts with 5, Tiberio with 4, VanThof with 4, Reilly with 3, Duell with 3, Wayne with 2, and Cole with 1.
