Fairport J.V. Boys' Basketball Team
improves to 5-0
In a crossover game the JV Raiders hosted
Webster Schroeder last Wednesday. The Raiders took the lead in the first
quarter 16 to 9. They continued to increase their lead in the second
quarter outscoring the Warriors by 5 to lead by 33 to 21 at the half.
Fairport hit 7 of 9 from the foul line in the second half to go on to win
63 to 41. Leading the Raiders scoring a season high 17 points was Corey
McAdam. Also scoring were Kelly Condello with 14, Nick Pelusio with 14,
Pat Tiberio with 6, Jeremy Roberts with 4, Bob Duell with 4, Mike Wayne
with 2, and Mark VanThof with 2. Also playing and contributing to the win
were Owen Reilly, Josh Michalko, Adam Cole and Mark Bruce.
In the second game last week Fairport
traveled to Hilton to take on the Cadets. The first quarter was close with
the Raiders taking the lead 10 to 6. Fairport had a big second quarter
outscoring the Cadets 21 to 10 to lead at the haf 31 to 16. The second
half was fairly even with the Raiders holding their lead and going on to
win 53 to 41. Leading a balanced scoring attack was Bruce with 10 points.
Also scoring were Pelusio with 9, Roberts with 7, Condello with 7, McAdam
with 6, VanThof with 6, Tiberio with 4, Wayne with 2 and Duell with 2. The
Raiders host Lockport, December 26th in the first round of the Fairport
Holiday Tournament at Fairport High School at 3:30 pm.
