Fairport JV Boy's Basketball Team Finishes 2nd in Holiday Tournament

In the first annual Red Raider Holiday Tournament the JV Raiders faced an undefeated team from Lockport. Fairport jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter, 13 to 9. Lockport went on a 10 to 0 run at the end of the first half to close the game to 4 points at the half: 27 to 23. Cory McAdam scored 10 of his game high 17 points in the fourth quarter as the Raiders went on to win 58 to 55. Also scoring for Fairport were Nick Pelusio with 14, Kelly Condello with 11, Mark Bruce with 7, Pat Tiberio with 4, Jeremy Roberts with 3, and Mike Wayne with 2.

Fairport played McQuaid in the finals. McQuaid took the early lead in the first quarter, 16 to 12. The Raiders outscored McQuaid in the second quarter 14 to 13 to trail by 3 at the half. Late in the game McQuaid converted a 3 point play and made their foul shots to put the game out of reach. The final score was 48 to 44. Leading the scoring for Fairport was McAdam with 15 points. Also scoring were Condello with 8, Bruce with 7, Duell with 4, Roberts with 4, Tiberio with 2, Pelusio with 2, and Mark VanThof with 2.
