H.S. boys basketball roundup: Magee, Smith lead Fairport to win

(February 18, 2004) — FAIRPORT — Cory Magee and Tyler Smith each scored 16 points as Fairport defeated Pittsford Mendon 67-65 in their last Monroe County league game of the regular season Tuesday.

After trailing the whole game, Mendon had a chance to force overtime or win with 15 seconds remaining. The Vikings missed a 3-pointer, grabbed the offensive rebound, but then turned the ball over to end the game.

Magee also grabbed 10 rebounds and Tyler Smith pulled down nine rebounds for the Red Raiders (10-2 league 15-3). Ryan McAdam scored a game-high 18 points for Fairport.

Chris Shalvoy and William Rieth each made four 3-pointers and combined for 51 points for Mendon (9-9).
