03/11/05 - All-star basketball games: Basketball season is not quite over in Section V.

While the state semifinals take place in Glens Falls, the Monroe County League plays its annual All-Star games for seniors Saturday at Greece Athena High.

Greece Arcadia's Eileen Baxter and Fairport's Mallory Kennedy are among the All-Stars who will play at 6 p.m. in the girls game. There is a 3-point shooting contest at halftime.

Pittsford Mendon's Dave Cappuccio, Rush-Henrietta's Tyler Barley, along with Brockport's Anthony Rogers and Tyler Mutton are in the boys game at 8 p.m. There will be a slam-dunk contest at halftime.

Admission is $3 for adults, $1 for students with identification.

A strong first quarter defense held Penfield to 2 points! Ryann Bouchard lead the Raiders in scoring with 13 Points. Katelyn Soja added 11 points and 12 Rebounds. Katelyn scored the winning basket with an assist from Ryann Bouchard, at the buzzer, for the win. This is Penfield's first league loss.
