Fairport JV Boy’s Basketball Beat Gates, Lose to RH

In their first game last week the JV Raiders hosted Gates. With 5 different players scoring in the first quarter Fairport jumped out to a 17 to 10 first quarter lead. Fairport continued to increase their lead in the second quarter and lead at halftime, 32 to 20. The Raiders went on to win 59 to 43. Leading a balanced scoring attack was Kevin Borden with 14 points. Also scoring were Nick Pelusio with 12, Greg Fitter and Chris Hare with 7, Mark Bruce with 6, Kyle Downey with 5, Travis Condello with 4 and Tyler Launer with 4.

On Friday Fairport traveled to Rush Henrietta to play the comets. In the first quarter RH made 3 three point shots to jump out to a 19 to 13 first quarter lead. In the second quarter RH continued to put in three pointers making 6 more to lead 43 to 33 at the half. The second half was more of the same with RH hitting a total of 13 three pointers for the game to go on to win 73 to 51. Leading the scoring for Fairport was Borden with 19 points. Also scoring were Launer with 10, Bruce with 9, Downey with 6, Pelusio with 4, and Fitter with 3. Their next game is Wed. 1/12 at Penfield.
