The second
annual Image Capital Shootout featured five games at the Blue Cross
Arena at the War Memorial on Sunday. Geneva defeated Victor 76-50 in
the opener. Matt Higgins led the Panthers (14-2) with 19 points, Brent
Long had 10 for Victor(7-8).
The second game on the shootout saw
Clyde-Savannah knock off Lyons 72-65. Devin Vreeland sparked the
Golden Eagles with 13 points, Ryan Brisky added 9. The Lions were led
by Isaiah Scott with 19 points.
The host school McQuaid faced
Fairport in the middle game. Corey Mcgee sparked the Red Raiders with
19 points and 14 rebounds, Scott Rogerson chipped in 15. Fairport
outscored the Knights 35-24 in the second half. Obika Ikpeze scored a
game high 13 points for McQuaid.
Rush-Henrietta ran away from
Henninger of the Syracuse winning 72-60. Calvin Betts scored 20 points
and grabbed 13 rebounds, Tyler Barley 18, Tim Jackson 13. The Royal
Comets led 32-19 at half. Cornelius Vines scored 27 points for the
Black Knights connecting on 5-three pointers.
The showcase game pitted a clash of
two Class AA schools. Nigara Falls of section VI, ranked third in
state versus East ranked fourth. Paul Harris put on a show with 24
points and 17 rebounds. Robert Garrison led the Wolverines (17-0) with
28. Nate Brumfield scored 26 for the Orientals(15-1), Keion Mitchum
14, Will Jackson 12.
