Shortly after Fairport ended its seven-game losing streak to Rush-Henrietta on Wednesday, 6-foot-8 center Cory Magee was yelling, "The Curse is over!" That figured, because Magee is a Boston Red Sox fan. Of course, the Red Raiders' "curse" in boys basketball against their Monroe County Division I rival was considerably shorter (three years vs. 86).
"This was a little sweeter," said Magee, who had 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Fairport vs. R-H boys basketball tonight sold out
Staff report
(January 11, 2006) — If you don't have a ticket, don't show up at tonight's Monroe County boys basketball game showdown between Rush-Henrietta and Fairport.
The highly anticipated game is a sellout, according to Fairport athletic director Jim Zumbo.
Counting Section V and school passes, a crowd of 2,400 is expected at Fairport High.
Fairport is 6-1, losing only to Niagara Falls. Rush-Henrietta is 7-1, with a non-league loss to East High last month.

Division 1 - Corey McAdam, Cory Magee, Fairport. Corey McAdam, senior guard and Cory Magee, senior forward, both scored 18 points in the championship game against Athena to earn Co-MVP honors in the Fairport Holiday Tournament. Corey McAdam also scored 18 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and had 6 assists against Edison. Cory Magee scored 16 points and grabbed 14 points in that game as well.
