A Message From FHS Principal Dave Paddock:
Best of luck to all Red Raider Basketball players and coaches for another
successful season. My connection with Fairport Basketball goes way back to
the early 1950's watching my
dad coach the boys varsity team at West Avenue and then at the new
high school, Minerva Deland! I spent many years as the ball boy for some
great teams in the late fifties and sixties! Fairport Basketball has a
long and storied tradition, and I am very proud of all our players, past
and present. Not only is it a winning tradition, but more importantly it
is a tradition of winning or losing with class, dignity, and
sportsmanship. In this modern era of professional athletes boasting,
taunting opponents, and blaming officials, it is so important that we keep
the tradition of sportsmanship alive at FHS. So my message to everyone
involved with basketball at Fairport is keep doing what I have been
watching for almost 50 years. And that is giving it your best effort in
every game and conducting yourself with class... that goes for coaches,
players and of course fans, too! Good Luck for a Great Season!
