Fairport JV Boy’s Basketball Win Holiday

The Fairport JV
Boy’s Basketball team won their own holiday tournament last week beating
Edison and Lockport. In the first game the Raiders were matched up against
Edison. Fairport fell behind in the first quarter trailing 13 to 10. The
Raiders outscored Edison 14 to 5 in the second quarter to take the lead at the
half 24 to 18. The third quarter was played fairly even but in the fourth
quarter Fairport outscored Edison 22 to 9 to win 59 to 38. Leading the scoring
for Fairport was Robby Magee with 14 points. Also scoring were David Kozar
with 9, John McDonnell with 8, Brendan McCarthy with 8, Scott Deady with
6,Brandon Stevens with 5, Zack Scribani with 3, Matt Falcon with 3, Larry Hall
with 2, and Mike DeRusso with 1.
In the
championship game the Raiders played Lockport. Fairport jumped out to an early
lead outscoring Lockport 36 to 20 in the first half. The Raiders maintained
their lead in the second half to go on to win 61 to 43. Leading the scoring
for Fairport was Kozar with 16 points. Also scoring were Deady with 12,
Scribani with 8, McCarthy with 6, Stevens with 6, McDonnell with 4, Marc
Bertucci with 4, Tim Lukenbill with 2, DeRusso with 2, and Sam Townsend with
1. Also playing and contributing to the win were Andy Petersen, Larry Hall,
Matt Falcon, and Robby Magee. The Raiders are now 4 -2.
