Boy’s Basketball now 10-3
The JV Raiders
played 7 games in 11 days finishing up the last week winning 2 of 3 games. On
Martin Luther King Day the Raiders traveled to East High to play the
Orientals. Fairport suffered a cold shooting first half scoring just 14 points
to trail East by 17 in the first half. The second half was played even but the
Raiders could not make up the first half deficit and lost 57 to 41. Leading
the scoring for Fairport was David Kozar with 8 points. Also scoring were
Brandon Stevens with 7, Scott Deady with 6, Robby Magee with 5, Zack Scribani
with 4, Sam Townsend with 4, Matt Falcon with 2, John McDonnell with 2, Mike
DeRusso with 2, and Marc Bertucci with 1.
On Wednesday,
Fairport travel to Churchville. Fairport took the lead in the first half 23 to
17. The Raiders made 11 of 16 foul shots in the 4th quarter to seal
the victory, 58 to 44. Leading the scoring was DeRusso with 15 points. Also
scoring were Kozar with 13, Magee with 12, Bertucci with 7, Deady with 4,
Scribani with 3, and McDonnell with 2.
On Friday the
Raiders played at Brockport. The first half was close with Fairport leading by
four, 25 to 21. The Raiders tightened up the defense in the second half and
held Brockport to 13 points and went on to win 51 to 34. Leading a balanced
scoring attack was Stevens with 9. Also scoring were Kozar with 8, Bertucci
with 7, Scribani with 6, Deady with 6, McDonnell with 5, DeRusso with 3, Magee
with 3, Larry Hall with 2, and Brendan McCarthy with 2. Also playing and
contributing to the win were Andy Petersen, Falcon, Townsend, and Tim
Lukenbill.
