Fairport JV Boy’s Basketball Lose to Schroeder and Gates

The Fairport JV Boy’s basketball team dropped 2 games last week losing to Webster Schroeder and Gates. On Wednesday the Raiders hosted Schroeder. The first half was close with Fairport leading at the half 29 to 25. Webster had a big third quarter outscoring Fairport 21 to 11 to lead 46 to 40. Fairport made 8 of 10 foul shots in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 48. With 10 seconds remaining, Webster came down and hit a 15 foot jumper just before the buzzer to win by 2. The final score was 50 to 48. Leading the scoring for the Raiders was Robby Magee with 13 points. Also scoring were David Kozar with 12, Scott Deady with 7, Zack Scribani with 7, Brandon Stevens with 5, and Mike DeRusso with 4.


On Friday the Raiders traveled to Gates to take on the Spartans. Fairport fell behind in the first half 34 to 27. The second half was played fairly even with the Raiders getting no closer than 6 points losing 65 to 59. Leading the scoring for Fairport with a season high 29 points was David Kozar. Also scoring were Deady with 11, Stevens with 4, Scribani with 4, John McDonnell with 2, DeRusso with 2, and Marc Bertucci with 1. Fairport’s record is now 10 – 5.
