Boy’s Basketball Opens Season 1-1
The Fairport JV
basketball team opened up their season at Wilson Magnet last week. The JV
Raiders came out strong outscoring Wilson 14 to 8 in the first quarter. The
second quarter ended with each team scoring 10 points to give Fairport a lead
at the half 24 to 18. Fairport managed only two field goals in the third
quarter as Wilson took the lead 33 to 28. The Raiders battled back to regain
the lead by two only to have Wilson take it back to go on to win 49 to 44.
Leading the scoring for Fairport was Brian Dastin with 14 points. Also scoring
were Michael Glenn with 11, Phil Mormon with 8, Geoff Soja with 7, Robby Magee
with 2 and Ace Ravenell with 2.
In the second game
the Raiders traveled to Brockport to take on the Blue Devils. In a high
scoring first half, Fairport took the lead 33 to 30. Fairport tighten up the
defense in the second half hold Brockport to 16 points to go on to win 61 to
48. Leading the scoring for Fairport was Michael Glenn with 15 points. Also
scoring were Mormon with 13, Magee with 11, Adam Lostumbo with 6, Ravenell
with 4, Soja with 4, Dan Kremers with 4, James Hamill with 2, and Dastin with
2. Also playing and contributing to the win were Bryce Hammerton, Robbie Rath,
Ryan Hourihan, Zach Tatro, and Mark Regan.
