Fairport JV Boy’s Basketball Team Loses in
O.T.
The Fairport JV boy’s basketball team hosted Edison over the holiday break. In
a high scoring first half the Raiders took the lead 38 to 33. Edison scored 21
points in the fourth quarter hitting a long 3 point shot at the buzzer to put
the game into overtime. Edison outscored Fairport 12 to 8 in the overtime to
go on to win 88 to 84. Leading the scoring for Fairport was Michael Glenn with
25 points. Also scoring were Robby Magee with 21, Phil Mormon with 20, Geoff
Soja with 10, James Hamill with 6, and Brian Dastin with 2.
In their second game of the week the Raiders
hosted Henninger from Syracuse. The first half was played fairly even with
Henninger taking the lead 28 to 22. Fairport was held to 7 points in the third
quarter and Henninger went on to win 55 to 40. Leading the scoring for
Fairport was Magee with 11 points. Also scoring were Mormon with 7, Soja with
6, Ace Ravenell with 5, Hamill with 3, Zach Tatro with 2, Glenn with 2, Robbie
Rath with 2, and Mark Regan with 2.
