McADAM NAMED E8 ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Jan. 8, 2007) -- Corey McAdam, a freshman guard on the
Nazareth College men's basketball team, has been named Empire 8 Conference
Rookie of the Week for the seven-day period that ended Jan. 7, 2007. It marks
the third time this season that McAdam has been honored as the E8's top
rookie.
A native of Fairport, N.Y. and a graduate of Fairport High School, McAdam
totaled 39 points, 12 assists and eight steals as Nazareth split a pair of
conference games over the weekend. He scored a career-high 29 points on 10 for
14 shooting to go with nine assists, six steals and five rebounds in a 75-72
victory over Alfred last Friday. He added 10 points and three assists in a
73-63 loss to St. John Fisher Saturday.
McAdam is the Golden Flyers' second leading scorer this season at 16.1 points
per game. He also ranks among the Division III leaders in assists and steals
at 7.6 and 3.4 per game respectively.
Nazareth's season resumes Wednesday at RIT with the opening round of the
JPMorgan Chase Scholarship Tournament. The Golden Flyers, seeded sixth at 5-5,
play third-seeded Rochester (8-3) at 6:15 p.m. (WYSL-AM 1040 /
