Boy’s Basketball Team Beats Penfield at the Buzzer
The Fairport JV
boy’s basketball team traveled to Penfield to take on the Patriots. In a
defensive battle the Raiders found themselves down one with 10 seconds to go
in the game. Ace Ravenell drove into the lane but missed the shot and Phil
Mormon tipped in the miss to win the game for Fairport 35 to 34. Leading the
scoring for Fairport was Michael Glenn with 15 points. Also scoring were
Mormon with 8, Robby Magee with 4, James Hamill with 4, Ravenell with 2 and
Brian Dastin with 2.
In other games
Fairport played Rush Henrietta at Rush. This was a close game all the way with
the Raiders taking a 2 point lead into the fourth quarter. Rush outscored the
Raiders 23 to 18 in the final quarter to win 61 to 58. Leading the scoring for
Fairport was Magee with 29 points. Also scoring were Glenn with 17, Geoff Soja
with 6, Dastin with 4, and Hamill with 2.
In their latest
game the Raiders hosted East High. East High jumped out to an early lead at
the half, 34 to 21. East scored 24 points in the third quarter to put the game
away and go on to win 77 to 40. Leading the scoring for the Raiders was Glenn
with 14. Also scoring were Magee with 10, Dan Kremers with 4, Mormon, Dastin,
Hamill, Mark Regan, and Bryce Hammerton all with 2 and Adam Lostumbo with 1.
