McADAM MAKES EMPIRE 8 ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
ROCHESTER,
N.Y. (February 22, 2007)—Corey McAdam, a freshman guard on the Nazareth men’s
basketball team, has been named Rookie of the Year as well as a second-team
selection to the Empire 8 Conference all-start team fro 2006-07. The
all-conference teams were chosen through a vote of the league’s eight head
coaches.
In addition to McAdam, Nazareth’s Joe Canori was an honorable mention
selection and senior Brian Steves was Nazareth’s conference representative as
Sportsman of the Year.
Second seed Utica College was rewarded with the conference Player of the Year
in senior forward Ray Bryant while Fisher head coach Rob Kornaker received the
honor of being Coach of the Year.
Other first-team selections were Ithaca sophomores Jeff Bostic and Sean
Burton; Utica senior and freshman Ray Bryant and Doug Herring; and Fisher
senior Dan McSweeney.
McAdam, of Fairport, N.Y. and a graduate of Fairport High School, was
Nazareth’s second leading scorer at 14.6 points, 7.4 assists, 5.5 rebounds,
and 3.2 steals per game. He was named Rookie of the week five times.
Canori, of Webster, N.Y. and a graduate of Webster Thomas High School, was
Nazareth’s leading scorer averaging 19.6 points per game. He was also the
second leading scorer in this years Empire 8 Conference averaging 18.5 points
per game.
Steves, of Syracuse, N.Y. and a graduate of Nottingham, was a two-year member
of the Nazareth men’s basketball team.
