Morgan Skiff went 4-for-4 from the free throw line in the final 30 seconds to lift fifth-seeded Churchville-Chili. She scored all of her 16 points in the second half.
“Morgan scored right away and cought fire after that,” Churchville-Chili coach Ryan Raftery said.
Fairport swept the Saints during the regular season.Skiff grabbed eight rebounds and Briona Jones added 11 rebounds for the Saints.
The Saints will face top-seeded Rush-Henrietta 8 p.m. Wednesday at Roberts Wesleyan.“We trailed by one point going into the third quarter the second time we played them this year at their place,” Raftery said. “We’ll have to play a good game that night and not make any mistakes.”
The Saints are the last Monroe County team to defeat the Royal Comets. C-C beat R-H in 2005, the same year the Saints had the top-seed going into sectionals. Skiff and Brittany Williams both played in that game.
