01.21.09 - Boys Freshman Red Bounce Back over Spencerport : 46-32

Fairport shunned off scoring problems with 19 pts. in the 1st quarter. Steven Weber was the overall scoring leader with 10 pts. and Joe Masino had 7pts.


01.21.09 - Boys Freshman Blue over Olympia by 11

Fairport got ahead in the first quarter 15 to 5 and never looked back. Jay P., Dom Z., and Jordan P. led all scorers. Dan G. worked hard penetrating to the basket and Josh dominated the boards. A very good effort overall.


01.16.09 - Boys Freshman Red Drop Second in a Row @ Hilton

For the 2nd game in a row, Fairport got off to a slow start, scoring 2 pts. in the 1st quarter and having only 8 pts. at half time. Steven Weber is stepping up his game offensively as he had 6 pts. in the 2nd half to help Fairport draw closer.


01.16.09 - Boys Freshman Blue dominate Brockport

After a slow start the team pulled together and scored 31 points in the third quarter to take the lead and never look back. A high pressure press with good finishing made the difference. Fairport played good team defense and had four players in double digits (Jay P., Dom Z., Justin T., and Tyler L.) - Final: 73-54


01.14.09 - Boys Freshman Blue come back strong over Batavia 45-33

Fairport Blue came out strong from the tip-off. The team showed intensity and put good defensive pressure on Batavia from the start. Jason H., Kevin H., Jay P., and Dan G. played with a lot of energy putting pressure on Batavia's ball handlers. Tyler L. and Dom Z. again had a very good game offensively and defensively. Overall a good defensive effort by the Fairport team.

01.14.09 - Boys Freshman Red downed by Irondequoit

Disappointing game. Shooting was off as we shot 40% from the foul line and under 30% from the field. The team is looking to bounce back with a big game against Hilton.


01.09.09 - Boys Freshman Blue suffer first loss of the season 40-44

Fairport started out slow falling behind in the first quarter but came back strong in the second and third closing the gap. Fairport took the lead and kept it close playing good defense. It came down to the last few seconds of the game when after great team defense by Fairport, Athena made a desperate 3point shot as the shot clock expired. With only seconds left Fairport had a chance to tie but fell short. Jay P., Dom. Z., and Justin T. had a strong offensive game.


01.09.08 Boys Freshman Red dominates Gates-Chili

The 2nd quarter group was KEY to the game, out scoring Gates 26 to 2. Alex Milner scored 14 pts. and Brad Record scored 4 in the quarter. Brady Meixell had 8 pts. for the game. Final: 54-29

01.07.09 - Boys Freshman Red gets by Penfield at home

Final Score: 55-49 -- Tate Burch and Kevin Vaughn led the team out of 13 to 0 run in the 4th quarter to pull away from Penfield. Both players scored 6 pts. each in the 4th quarter. Burch had 14 pts. for the game. Vaughn had 10 pts. and Masino had 9 pts.

01.07.09 - Boys Freshman Blue - 52-38 over Churchville-Chili on the road

Dom Z. had a great game scoring 16 points. Sandy A. and Dan G. played well coming off the bench.

12.17.08 - Boys Freshman Blue by 11 over West Irondequoit

Coach King's Freshman Blue team took on West Irondequoit and returned home with a 49-38 victory!

The team played well with Tyler L. leading all scorers with 17 points. Sam C. and Kyle M. came off the bench and had a solid game.

12.17.08 - Freshman Red by 16 over Schroeder on the Road

Balanced scoring led by Tate Burch with 12 pts , Joe Masino with 11 pts and Ben Fuess with 10 pts. Masino was 9 for 10 from the foul line. Final Score: 52-36

12.12.08 - Boys Freshman Red Dominate Spencerport

Brady Meixell and Rob Wolmering were high scorers with 12 pts. each and Joe Masino chipped in 9 pts. Steven Weber had a strong game rebounding and defensively. He scored 4 pts. Ryne Veenema played his most minutes this year as he picked up the offense.

Final Score - Fairport 63, Spencerport 33

12.11.08 - Fairport JV over Edison 41-33

The Fairport Boys JV basketball team defeated Edison 41-33 in their first game of the season. Will Siembor led the team in scoring with 14 points, while Max Brown had 10 points and Eric Pries added 9. Keenan Gray, Keegan Hammerton, Alex Razavi and Ryan Ruhland each added 2 points to round out the scoring. Coach Zimmerman observed, "We seemed pretty nervous in the first quarter, but once we settled into the game the boys did a great job, especially defensively." Fairport plays at home tonight against Gates Chili with a game time of 6:15. On Friday, the Raiders will travel to Rush-Henrietta.

12.11.08 - Boys Freshman Blue over Greece Olympia

Fairport played a strong defensive game with scoring from a number of different players. Dan G. and Sandy A. had a strong offensive showing. Sam C., Jordan P., and Justin T. also contributed by controlling the boards.


12.08.08 - Fairport JV Basketball Season Begins

The Fairport Junior Varsity Basketball team begins its season December 10, with a home game versus Edison at 6:15.

Members of the team include Ben Abbott, Max Brown, Jason DeFranco, Alex Dudek, Keenan Gray, Keegan Hammerton, Stuart Peterson, Eric Pries, Alex Razavi, Ryan Ruhland, Luke Sanna, and Will Siembor.

Martha Brown English teacher Erik Zimmerman coaches the team; no stranger to Fairport Basketball, Coach Zimmerman spent several years coaching at the modified and Freshman level before moving this year to the JV spot. When asked about the upcoming season, Coach Zimmerman commented, “The team is looking good so far. The players have been working hard in practice, and I know we are all anxious for the season to begin.”

The team will travel to Greece Athena on Saturday, December 13 for a 5:15 game.
